Client Spotlight: Novaurum Biosciences and the Power of Partnership in Innovation

At Inspiralia, we’re proud to partner with visionary scientists and entrepreneurs who are pushing the boundaries of innovation in healthcare. One such collaborator is Dr. Thomas Webster, Chief Scientific Officer at Novaurum Biosciences, a company developing breakthrough implant coatings designed to reduce infections and promote tissue regeneration.

Novaurum’s technology has its roots in academic research—specifically, a PhD thesis from Dr. Webster’s lab that discovered how cells can naturally produce nanoparticles. These biologically derived nanoparticles are proving to be more effective than their synthetic counterparts at killing bacteria, targeting cancer cells, and enhancing tissue growth. This promising discovery laid the foundation for Novaurum, which now aims to extend the life and performance of medical devices by tackling one of the industry’s greatest challenges: implant failure.

Dr. Webster emphasizes the critical role Inspiralia has played in Novaurum’s journey:

“Inspiralia was instrumental in helping us secure NSF SBIR Phase I funding—not once, but twice. Their professionalism, honest feedback, and ability to navigate the complex U.S. grant review process were invaluable. Without them, we would not have received this support.”

With funding secured, Novaurum is well on its way to transforming how we approach infection control and tissue integration in medical devices. We’re honored to support their mission and proud to be a part of their success.

To all the innovators out there working to improve science and engineering—we’re here to help you get the funding you need to bring your vision to life.
